What Is AusElectrical Tools?

AusElectrical Tools is a free, professional electrical engineering calculator platform built specifically for the Australian market. It provides accurate, transparent calculations for common electrical engineering tasks — from voltage drop and cable sizing to motor current, fault levels and power factor correction.

Who Is It For?

The site is designed for electrical engineers, electricians, electrical contractors, TAFE and university students, and anyone working with Australian electrical systems. The calculations are developed with reference to Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008.1, AS/NZS 1359 and others.

Why Build This?

Most electrical calculator tools available online are built for European (IEC) or North American (NEC) standards. Australian practice differs in important ways — our supply voltages, earthing systems, wiring rules, cable ratings and standards are distinct. AusElectrical Tools fills this gap.

How Are Calculations Done?

Every calculator shows its working — formulas, substituted values and intermediate results. This is not a black-box tool. Calculations are derived from published electrical engineering principles and developed with reference to relevant Australian Standards. Where exact standards data would require reproduction of licensed material, the methodology is clearly explained.
